Post about killing animals in the vegetarian community
22nd-Oct-2010 08:33 am

Just wondering why a post about killing animals was approved for a vegetarian community....I guess the rules don't state anything specifically about not posting things regarding killing animals - only to meat - but I just assumed that since this is vegetarian I won't have to see posts about animals being killed.

I approved it as an interesting topic for debate; many people there, I imagine, would see past the idea of "humanely" killing an animal and would want to discuss it in a veg*n-friendly environment.

However, I do understand your concerns. I'll ask the OP to put it under a cut. :)

Thank you!

ETA: Also, would you mind unlocking this? I know the default is to lock it, but I would also like for other members of vegetarian to see this as well. Thanks!

There you go - sorry I didn't realize the default was locked :)

That's okay! I don't even think there's an option to unlock until the post is already made, so not your fault. :)

Since animal cruelty is one of the biggest reasons people turn to vegetarianism, I think it's logical to expect some discussion of it in a vegetarian-themed community.
